After an absolute snooze fest of a match between Brooks and Bryson we finally have a tournament we can enjoy. Brooks absolutely slaughtered Bryson and the “feud” is officially over. I think I speak for everyone in saying, hopefully the bad reviews will force them to put more thought on who should play in it next year. That being said, the biggest news of the week was by no means those two playing, it was the GOAT speaking in the Hero World Challenge press conference.
First off, Tiger looked absolutely jacked. His arms look phenomenal and his back seems to be ready for action. He did say that he never would play every week again but I’m not sure why many were surprised by this since he basically did that anyways. Now, I have been projecting he will win the 2023 Masters since the accident and I must say, I feel pretty fucking confident in that now. He sounded phenomenal, he made dad jokes and I think he’s understating how good his game is right now. It was great to see him back and the golf world will find normalcy soon enough.
Now let’s get on to the tourney:
As always, the field is very small for this tournament which makes the odds worse but I think there’s still some value. Similar to the other tourneys, won’t be going huge on anything until we’re fully back in season.
Hole in One +400
This is a fun bet in my opinion and you get way better odds than normal since the field is smaller. I chased this at the Ryder Cup and was so close a couple times and think redemption will arrive in the Bahamas. My prediction is it will be Rory or Spieth who are each +7000 if you want to grab a ticket.
Mortal Lock: Justin Rose +2200
This is the final chance I ever give to Justin Rose. He has fucked me so many times but this spot makes so much sense for him. The only reason he is there is because he’s friends with Tiger and it’s such a small tournament that nobody would be surprised if he won. Rose is a long hitter and good putter which should play well here and I think he will definitely give it a run this weekend.
